Just Desert CD now available - FREE!
In case you missed it last night, Vanessa
Henson presented her fabulous slide presentation. To call it a
slide presentation does not do it justice. It is a full
blown professional production of montages with music and
special effects that make this Just Desert Cruise CD one
of the most memorable ever. Thank you Vanessa!!
Vanessa has produced sufficient copies for every boat on
the cruise and guests. So if you did not receive yours
at the Cruise Reunion Dinner, then please contact Sheila Chandler at

fabulous cruise to the Mt Desert regions of Maine
followed by a reunion dinner. And we promise, no more

- Fabulous 2007
Annual BYC Cruise Wrapped Up
Tons of
New Cruise Photos are now Online BYC members have now returned or
are returning from the 2007 "Just Desert" Annual
Cruise. Locations visited in the Mt. Desert region
included Northeast, Southwest, Bar, Blue Hill, and Burnt
Coat Harbors. The cruise weather was excellent with
sunny days, cool evenings, and no significant fog.
Cuisine was as good as had been anticipated. And of
course the social interactions were wonderful. There
were daily web text updates for the BYC members back at home
(thanks to John Henson),
but until now we were unable to upload photos from the latter half of the cruise.
Now you can see
all of the photos here. The cruise committee (Bernie Coyne & Lynn
Squire, and Wayne and Sheila Chandler) outdid themselves
in executing this classic BYC event. And it won't
be long before the Cruise Reunion dinner on Thurs Sept 27!

Down East Challenge Race - an alternative
rally August 4-5 Consider the Down East Challenge Race as an
alternative rally to getting to Northeast Harbor. This
is intended to be a fun race that will allow steely-eyed,
hard core racers, like Tom Anderson, and lackadaisical
"don't know nuthin' bout racing" cruisers to compete in
their own classes - and sail to Maine in the shortest
possible time at the beginning of the Just Desert cruise.
What's better than picking up some new silver at the start
of the Maine cruise and have bragging rights with other
members of your club during the cruise! Organized by
the Marblehead Yacht Club and the Rockland Yacht Club they
are welcoming BYC cruisers. For more details see their
brochure.

- USCG – Waste Management Plans
One of the items the Coast Guard requires all vessels 40’
and over to carry is a written “Waste Management Plan.” This
item is often overlooked by even the most conscientious
boaters. If you don’t already have a written plan aboard
visit
http://www.uscg.mil/hq/g-m/nmc/wmprv.pdf to download a
form plan. If you want to make sure you have all the
Coast Guard required equipment, take the interactive online
