Sat Jul 31: Padanaram - New Bedford Yacht Club

  • 1730 Welcome reception and BBQ under the tent

    • Please bring an hors d'oeuvre or a side dish or a dessert to share with everyone, and something for yourselves to grill on the gas grill. There will be a cash bar.

 

Sun Aug 1: Padanaram - New Bedford Yacht Club

  • 0830 Cruise Kickoff Breakfast

  • 1000 Nantucket basket vase workshop - signup by June 15 please

    • This is your chance to create an heirloom! We will make this beautiful vase during the cruise; it's a wonderful activity while boating. Fee includes materials to create a vase (you'll need a few household things like scissors and a sharp small knife). You'll get started on the vase, with full instructions, before the cruise. Then we weavers will meet periodically during the cruise for quick lessons, problem solving, progress reports. It's easy to make and you should have a beautiful vase by the end of the cruise! Not just for women - men welcome too!

  • 0800 Blueberry Breakfast

  • 1000 Tour Nantucket Whaling Museum

    • Just steps from the marina, the Nantucket Whaling Museum is a must for anyone interested in the noble history of this island. We'll start with a tour of museum highlights, such as a skeleton of sperm whale, the 1849 fresnel lens from Sankaty lighthouse, and scrimshaw and decorative arts. This is followed by a multimedia presentation that traces the rise and decline of whaling on the island and takes visitors on an imaginary whaling voyage in the shoes of a 14 year-old cabin boy. Fee includes admission for entire day.

  • 1830 Dinner, Great Harbor Yacht Club, Commodore's Dinner

    • This special evening with fellow cruisers begins with a glass of sparking wine on the lawn of the new GHYC, followed by a delicious three-course dinner. The club is a few minutes' walk from the marina and has graciously extended our cruisers the opportunity to use the spa, swimming pool, tennis courts, athletic facility, and grill room for the day. (Note: Please indicate your entree choice when you sign up--slow braised beef short ribs, cod wrapped in serrano-ham, or vegetarian. Chicken fingers are available for children 12 and under).

 

Wed August 4: Martha’s Vineyard

Thurs August 5: Martha’s Vineyard

  • 1000 Bus Tour, Martha's Vineyard

    • Tour Martha's Vineyard. A relaxing way to learn more about the island and enjoy a couple of hours on land. The tour includes the six towns of Martha's Vineyard, all different and interesting. We'll visit the Gay Head Cliffs, a National Historic Landmark, known worldwide for their dazzling red clay and natural beauty. Professional guides are fully versed in the landscape and lore of Martha's Vineyard.

  • Golf at Farm Neck

    • Challenging, famous, and beautiful describes Farm Neck Golf Golf Club. Reservations can be made only three days in advance and we can’t guarantee tee times, but playing where Presidents play is worth the wait.

  • 1600 Scavenger hunt

    • Compete with other boats for who can find, hmmm, we can't tell you what as yet. But it's a fun time for everyone and a chance to get to know your fellow cruisers and Oak Bluffs.

  • 1800 Casual dinner

    • Come meet at 6 PM at Smoke n Bones for tubs of ribs, chicken, beer wine, and the scavenger hunt prize giving. Pay as you go. All are welcome, whether or not you participated in the scavenger hunt.

 

Fri August 6: Pocasset

  • 1900 Dinner - Chart Room

    • Dinner to order at the famous Chart Room on the water at Kingman Marina.
