Reflections of a Race Committee Member - Tom Gawrys
"As a new club member and life long power boater I was pleased and intrigued at being invited to join the club’s Race Committee. My limited sailing knowledge, I was assured, would not be a hindrance to participation. In fact, my first race duties found me on the water at the helm of a 23 foot power patrol boat, and right at home with the days activities. The excitement of being in the mix and watching the skill and determination of the racing crews can only be fully appreciated by being there. Of course, on par with participating in the events, is the after race social interaction and the opportunity to meet members and establish new friendships. I’m happy to be part of the committee. It’s a rewarding experience and a lot of fun." From Tom Gawrys
