Beringer Bowl, another record year Tom Linkas on Indra recaptures the Beringer Bowl in Class A, while Peter Engel on Goldeneye takes the Merrigan Cup in Class B. Complete results can be found on the website linked to the results page and the Beringer page. 57 registered boats in 9 classes, with a marked increase for the OCS Class this year, we have to wonder if some didn’t like that really wet and very long race last year! Speaking of weather, this was a fast race down to Provincetown, some saw gusts up to 33 knots but mostly the wind held steady between 18 and 22 knots, although angles kept spinnakers out of the equation for the long stretch down to Provincetown. Check back later this week, as we will post the winners photos on the Beringer Bowl page. From Anne Coulombe, BYC Race Committee Chair |

Sperry Top-Sider NOODs at Race Week, a roaring success 121 years of race week history is alive and well at the BYC! The Sperry Top-Sider NOODs at Race Week attracted 177 boats in 11 classes, with competition from both coasts of the USA, Canada, Italy and Hong Kong. All fleets have stories to tell, including a three-way tie for first in the Sonar fleet won by Russ Silvestri from St-Francis YC in San Francisco. The Rhodes counted 33 registered boats and are gearing up for their national. Several of the J/30’s came to town early to race in the NOODs and then compete in the J/30 Nationals that the BYC will host in August. A big THANK YOU to the BYC staff that pulled together the on-shore events, the waterfront staff who were tireless in getting people to and from their boats and the race committee volunteers from BYC/CYC/EYC out on the water and scoring on land during these race days, we can’t do events like these without a lot of helping hands! Racing results are available on the SailingWorld website . Submitted by Anne L Coulombe, BYC Race Committee Chair |
