1. Rules

This regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing in effect at the time (2005-2008), the rules of the International Sonar Class Association, this Notice of Race, except as any of these are altered by the Sailing Instructions.

2. Eligibility and Entry

The regatta is open to Sonar Class boats. Entry is per each boat. Skippers must complete and sign the regatta entry waiver/release form and submit it with payment prior to sailing their first race. The form will also be available on the Boston Yacht Club website, under racing/frostbiting.

3. Schedule of Events

The sailing program will consist of three seasons of 5 racing dates per season from November 11, 2007 thru March 16, 2008, every Sunday contained therein with the following exceptions: November 25, 2007; and December 30, 2007. Racing Sundays begin with the warning signal for the first race of the day at 12 noon, subsequent races will follow with the intention to run as many races as possible each racing Sunday. It is the responsibility of each skipper to ready their boat and the surrounding area in preparation of launching their boat (this includes snow removal). Two dates (December 9th and January 27th) within the racing season will be scored separately and organized as Team Racing days.

The fee for registration, received by November 11, 2007 shall be $1200 for members of the Boston Yacht Club in good standing, or $1500 for non-Boston Yacht Club members. The fee includes winter storage for the boat and it’s trailer. Qualified BYC members may charter one of the BYC Sonars at a cost of $1200 per entire program year, plus security deposit of $750.
