Sonar Frostbiting

The BYC's Winter Sailing Program has re-established frostbiting as a regular feature of the Marblehead racing scene. Sonar frostbiting races are held each Sunday afternoon from November until April. The series is open to any eligible Sonar sailor (with preference for BYC members). However due to space, launching and haulout restrictions, the fleet size is usually limited to 12 or so boats. The format of multiple short-course races each day offers great opportunities to improve racing skills.

BYC members and guests can enjoy the excitement of this program from the warmth and comfort of the Club's dining room and lounges as the races held in the harbor (empty at this time of year!) are directly in front of the club. If you are not sailing in one of the Sonars, the best view is from the brunch table.
