Boston Yacht Club ~ Team Racing

The Boston Yacht club entered the Team Racing arena in 1999 with the inaugural Jackson Cup. This event is named in honor of the late Past Commodore Dr. Robert F. Jackson, (1993-'94), and is now recognized as one of the premier Team Racing events in the country. It is an annual invitational team race challenge by the Boston Yacht Club to other clubs and organizations. In the past, the teams selected for the challenge were chosen for having demonstrated high racing skills and the Corinthian spirit. The Jackson Cup is held in April, and sailed in Sonar class boats in Marblehead Harbor before it fills with yachts.

Team racing also occurs as part of the winter Sonar Frostbiting series.
