2008 Junior Sailing Program Staff

 

Andrew Kurzrok, Head Instructor My name is Andrew Kurzrok, and I will be returning to Boston Yacht Club as Head Instructor. I can't wait to come back to Marblehead Harbor for another excellent summer at BYC Jr. Sailing. When I'm not in Salem Sound, I am a freshman at Yale University studying physics. I am also a member of the sailing team at Yale, which has been a great experience. Before college, I was on the MHS sailing team and even before that learned how to sail in the harbor. BYC 2008 is going to be a great program, and we are all excited to introduce a new batch of sailors to the sport!
Lindsay Smith Welcome, summer sailors! My name is Lindsay Smith and I’ll be returning for my second summer as an instructor at the Boston Yacht Club. I grew up sailing at Pleon, and was a Junior Instructor there for two summers. I am currently a sophomore at Roger Williams University, where I am majoring in business and representing my school at various sailing regattas in New England. I look forward to another fun-filled summer of passing my passion onto my classes in Marblehead Harbor and beyond!
Chris Burd Hey all, my name is Chris Burd and I will be returning again for my  third summer at the BYC. I'm from Marblehead and learned to sail across the harbor, out of the Pleon Yacht Club. Currently, I'm a sophomore at Tulane University, in New Orleans, where I am studying business and  architecture, and also racing for the sailing team, which I will heading up as president of the team in the fall. I can't wait to get back out on Marblehead harbor this summer...let's hope for sun and wind!
Chase Kennedy Hi, my name is Chase Kennedy and I’m returning to the Boston Yacht Club for yet another summer. I have lived in Marblehead since I was five and have been sailing competitively and recreationally for the last twelve years; mostly while learning to sail at the Pleon Yacht Club. Currently I am a sophomore at Holy Cross where I am majoring in political science with a minor in French. I also run Division I Track. I cannot wait to have another fun packed summer teaching sailing at the Boston.
Maggie McMullen My name is Maggie McMullen, this summer will be my first season working as a Junior Instructor with the Boston Yacht Club sailing program. I am a junior at Marblehead High School and I have been sailing for over seven years at Pleon. Most of that time was spent competitively racing Optis and Club 420s all over New England. Last summer I was a Junior Instructor at Pleon and now I am excited about being part of the BYC program. Looking forward to seeing you on the water this summer!
