The Boston Yacht Club will be the host of a fishing tournament Sunday September 11th.  The tournament will include three prize categories; Largest Striped Bass, Largest Bluefish and Tagged Tuna.  The tournament entrance fee is $25 per angler for the Bass and Blues tournament.  An additional entrance fee of $5 per angler will enter one into the Tuna tournament. All BYC members are welcome to participate. Members of Maddies Anglers Club will also be invited to enter the Stoddard Tournament.  All anglers entered in the tournament will receive a T-shirt.

Fishing will commence at sunrise on Saturday.  Food and drink will be available at the Gazebo.  We anticipate boats entered in the tournament to be rafting up from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. (in a similar fashion to the boat parade). The larger boats will be stern to on the main dock and we are asking center consoles to try to fill in at the yardarm dock. The fuel dock will be open. Come on down to the Gazebo area for the weight-in at 3:00 PM to see how the fleet competed.

Prizes and Categories:

Tuna determined by lottery.  Each released/tagged or retained tuna (NMFS permit required all NMFS rules apply) entitles an angler to a lottery ticket to be drawn by the tournament committee. There will be three (3) Prizes in the Tuna category:

1.     Drawing #1 – Tagged and released tuna - each angler will receive a raffle ticket for every tagged tuna. The winner will be determined by random draw.

2.     Drawing #2 -Largest Giant (photo proof by recreational anglers or length for commercial anglers) If no Giant is caught we pull a second ticket from the drawing #1.

3.     Drawing #3 –most number of tags per angler – if there is a clear winner in terms of # of tags then they get an individual prize.  If no one is a clear winner then the number of people that are tied have a separate raffle drawing similar to #1 but only with those people that have the highest number of tags.

(All anglers entered in the Tuna category will receive tags upon registration)
